Scope: Capacity development of teachers is one of the essential factors for improving teacher quality and delivery of educational services, which results in enhanced learning outcomes of the students. Teachers of students from a disadvantaged background often lack capacity building to improve their required skills in teaching and addressing the needs of these children. This session will explore teaching strategies to support marginalized children’s learning, including pre-service and in-service training and pedagogy that are designed for teachers of marginalized children in different contexts. Good practices and teaching techniques will be shared by teachers and experts with on-the-ground experience. Apart from teacher training, the session will also discuss effective support mechanisms which will help teachers promote equity. This session is appropriate for teachers, educators, education service providers and government officials.
