Scope: Poverty often robs children and youth of the essential things they need most for development, including education, and, eventually, deprives them of life opportunities. The consequences of poverty and financial illiteracy often take a toll on their future. Investing in children and youth should be one of the major responses to the fast changing social and economic environments. In addition, as the influence of digital technology has increased, it is crucial for the governments to join forces with the private sector to equip digital literacy for all children and youth. Digital literacy and ICT skills can increase an opportunity of marginalized children and youth to better jobs with higher incomes. Many of them who could benefit from digital technology may not have access to it. To address these issues, the session focuses on entrepreneurial skills, financial and digital literacy empowers people to become self-sufficient and enables future attainment of financial stability.
