Mayor Somjai Suwansupana has been members of Phuket Municipal Council since 1980 – 2003 and been the Mayor of Phuket City for 13 years. She takes care of Education, Finance, Social Welfare and Public Health departments. Mayor Somjai has recently received 3 following awards: The Excellent Local Government Organizations (Educational Management ) 2018 from Department of Local Administration ASEAN ESC award 2017 ASEAN Clean Tourist City Standard 2020-2022
