Senior Ministerial Adviser - Ministry of Education and Culture
MARJO VESALAINEN (PhD) is Senior Ministerial Adviser at the Ministry of Education and Culture in Finland. At the Ministry, she works at the Department for Higher Education and Science Policy. Her responsibilities include especially issues related to teacher education and to pedagogical development at the level of higher education. She has also worked e.g. as a university teacher, post-doctoral researcher and as a senior lecturer in university pedagogy at the Centre for University Teaching and Learning at the University of Helsinki. Her research interests deal e.g. with teacher education, evaluation and assessment in teaching and learning, questions related to multilingualism, motivation, and aspects of learner language.
