Senior Education Specialist Organization: Educate A Child, a programme of the Education Above All Foundation
Michael Cacich is a Senior Education Specialist at Educate A Child, a programme of the Education Above All Foundation, based in Qatar. Educate A Child (EAC) aims to keep the promise of a quality education to more than 10 million of the world’s most marginalised out of school children. He is responsible for developing new partnerships and monitoring the quality of EAC-supported projects.
Michael is an international development professional who has held senior-level positions in Africa, Latin America, the Middle East, and in Washington, DC, over the last 30 years with a variety of non-governmental organisations, government agencies, and international foundations. He has worked on complex education development programmes throughout Africa, including in post-Apartheid South Africa and in South Sudan following the Comprehensive Peace Agreement of 2005.
Whether working to empower Q’ero communities of the high-Peruvian Andes, serving as a teacher in Botswana or supporting the organisational strengthening of local NGOs, Michael is particularly passionate about affecting change at the grassroots level.
Michael holds an M.A. in International Development from the American University and a B.S. in Geology and Anthropology from the University of Illinois.
