Jun Fan is Social Policy Specialist serving as Regional PFM Coordinator at UNICEF East Asia and Pacific Regional Office. Prior to that, he was Chief Social Policy and Child Protection at UNICEF Botswana Country Office, overseeing and managing the office’s upstream social policy dialogues with the host government in child poverty, social protection and child protection. Earlier he was Social and Economic Policy Specialist at UNICEF’s Uganda Country Office, Eastern and Southern Africa Regional Office (Nairobi, Kenya), and Department of Policy and Practice at New York HQ. Before joining UNICEF, he was PFM Advisor with UNDP in Afghanistan, advising the Afghan Government on fiscal decentralization. He was the lead in drafting the fiscal decentralization part of the Afghan Sub-national Governance Policy. Before his international career, he was a national civil servant working in the Ministry of Science and Technology of China. He holds a Master in Public Administration in International Development from Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, and a Bachelor in English and International Business from School of International Business, Beijing Foreign Studies University.
