Dexter N. Pante completed his Masters in Evaluation from the University of Melbourne. He is currently the Chief of the Department of Education’s School Effectiveness Division (SED) under the Bureau of Human Resources and Organizational Development. Under his leadership, the SED was able to develop critical education policies such as the School Improvement Planning (SIP) Process, School Report Card (SRC), School-to-School Partnership, School Governance Council and Special Hardship Allowance for Teachers. He designed and quality assured the instructional videos on school improvement planning and training guides which led to its popularization among school heads, teachers and community members. He led the SED’s data analytics team in developing the school typology, school remoteness, and teacher hardship indices, which were used for equity-based resource allocation, and program targeting. He also developed an electronic version of the school report card which simplified and standardized its preparation process. Moreover, he managed the evaluation team that developed an android-based survey application for monitoring of various DepEd policies and programs such as SIP, SRC, School Grants, Child Protection, and Disaster Risk Reduction. His passion for monitoring and evaluation and strong commitment to improving educational outcomes continue to motivate him to explore innovative solutions to educational issues.
